Membership

The Pediatric Hand Study Group (PHSG) is a professional association comprising hand surgeons, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals focused on the care of children with hand and upper extremity differences. Founded in 1995, PHSG fosters an inclusive and collegial environment dedicated to improving pediatric hand care through research support, meetings, international fellowship, and annual awards recognizing outstanding research in the field. Physicians, therapists, and allied health professionals who have completed training and are board-certified in their profession are eligible to apply for membership. Applicants should have at least 25% of their practice devoted to pediatric hand care.

Members receive access to:

  • Resources and education materials focused on pediatric hand and upper extremity care.
  • Discounted annual meeting fee for networking, presentations, and knowledge exchange.
  • Invitations to social events to promote collaboration and learning, including at the annual meetings of ASSH and AAHS.
  • A supportive, collegial network of professionals dedicated to advancing pediatric hand surgery and therapy, including a members-only listserv for sharing challenging cases.

Membership Requirements:

  • >25% of practice in care of pediatric Upper Extremity conditions
  • Complete a pediatric orthopedic or hand surgery fellowship (Surgeons)
  • LOR from current PHSG member
  • Board certified and in practice for 2 years
  • Closes December 31st of each year
  • Review on an annual basis by Board
    • Will announce new members at annual meeting
  • To maintain membership:
    • Pay annual dues
    • Attend a stand-alone meeting (not associated with ASSH) every 3 years

PHSG Emeritus Membership:

  • Available to all members who are retired from clinical practice
  • Conferred at the discretion of the board of directors
  • Free, retain benefits of membership
